texas day out

#1 Post by two-stroke-brit » Mon Sep 15, 2014 10:50 pm

hi all,
well i set of at 7.0 am ,it was only 66 degrees and a bit misty, wearing a mesh jacket over a t-shirt, (its texas it will be 80 by 9 oclock.)well that didnt happen .
got to my new buddies place about 45 miles away and after some initial banter, he starts up ONE of his RZ500s (his track bike).
sounds great, "do you want a quick ride on it" he says.
does a bear pooh in the woods, hell yes.
well it wasnt the acceleration that surprised me(good it is) it was the brakes (R1 blue spot) .
so to cut a long story short he toke his ducati monster and phill had his triumph speed triple.
a good ways into the ride the duc started cutting out intermittently, and ended up being trailored home.
and one of the harleys needed a jump start after a comfort stop.

but my LC kept up with the big boys there and back 200 + miles.
so all good in my book.
cheers mark

Bike looks great. Glad its worked out well. :smt023
I lived in Houston for 2 years. I remember one night well. It was 92 degrees and 90% humidity at midnight!
Awesome food though.

Your LC is beautiful! I had one like yours. From '82-'02.

Yeah +1

My first bike was an 81 LC. Had it from 85 to 88.

Yours is the nicest looking bike outta the bunch.

Where did you get the drilled rotors?

I have a set of blue-spots on my LC. Just got them installed so they are still bedding pads to the old disks but I am afraid to really try them hard cause I suspect the fork stantions might bend.

the bike came with the rotors already drilled .
a few too many for my liking ,
i tried some XJ550 rotors but the lever pulsed like a bugger, so went back to the originals.
my buddy has the blue spot "R1" set up on a rz500 and they are an eye opener for sure.
