trouble replaceing seals on left side caliper 4l0.

i had no trouble replacing the seals on the righd hand caliper,

but i keep cutting the seal on the left caliper.
using the grease supllied and doing the same as i did on the right but this is the third seal i have buggered.
have checked the piston and its clean with no damage or burrs or edges
scratching my head .

Did you check that the width of the new seal is the same as the old, and for sure there is nothing old left in the groove?
The piston must be pinching that seal?

thanks ,i will check the groove for debris and measure the seal.
its strange as i had no probs with the other caliper .

I've read that a small brass wire wheel on a dremel does a good job of cleaning the seal groove without damaging it.

hey dude thats good advise,
i took the piston to work(cnc machine shop).
looked at the edge wear the piston engages the seal and there is a rough radius transitioning to the piston dia.
but there was a lip and ,my guess is this lip was catching the seal and cutting it.
so i ground a 5 degree lead in angle to blend the rough rad to the piston dia and bingo slips in lovely .
all done no mess and bled system to a rock solid lever.
i love a happy ending
