Hi,
I have only just found this thread, as I don’t come on the forum that often these days.

I was lucky enough to get invited to take part in the Pro-am at Cadwell Park
I hadn’t been there since 1991 so I was a bit rusty! also a few of the other lads had done track days there for some additional practice.

Their were 2 races, one on Saturday & one on Sunday
Both races were recorded by Eurosport, so they will be out there on the internet somewhere, but I don’t know where the first one is yet.
I had a great weekend with some old mates, and we all still take it very seriously!, until back in the paddock & then best of mates again, something’s never change.
We are all geriatric racers now, all ages between 49 - 60

I qualified 5th in free practice
I was in second position in timed practice
Race one:- I finished in Second place,
Race two:- I Won.
So I was very pleased.

A very big thank you to the organisers & sponsors for putting the series back on.
Chris Herring & Niall Mackenzie for organising it.
IDP Moto, Continental Tyres, MSCM Subsea solutions, and many more sponsors, & without these people it would never happen!

I had a fantastic weekend I just hope I am lucky enough to get another invitation, Fingers crossed.
its just like the old days as you get your bike key drawn out of the hat, so you don’t know which is your bike.
Then they fit your riding numbers and adjust the handle bars & brake leavers to suit, then you can’t touch it again until the race.

Best regards

That was great. Thanks for sharing that. Looks like a lot of fun for all involved.

Thanks guys,
I had a great time & fingers crossed I get invited back if they have another race, maybe next year.

The infamous Key Draw out of the Hat!
Chris Herring with the Helmet bag, Niall Mackenzie giving out the keys.
They key fobs have a number on them which corresponds to a number on the front mudguard, so that’s your bike!
So their isn’t any way of any cheating!

I got bike no.1 at Silverstone 2015
Bike no.10 at Silverstone 2016
and got bike no.1 again at Cadwell Park 2017
