What a find! 1985 Stock RZ350 for $450

Hi Guys, I'm new to the forum and thought I would share my good deal with everyone. I found this 1985 RZ350 on Kijiji for $450 with a few spares part to boot. The bike has 33,000km and was stored for 16 years. I just tore the engine down and it has never been apart in my opinion, Standard pistons. The forks had leaky seals, gummed up carbs and the tank has had a rust hole in the bottom repaired. Tank is really clean except near the pickup, where there is rusting. The bike as dropped on the left side and the plastic needs some TLC on that side. Please note I have a 1983 RZ350 for parts from another deal and anything that will not fit my 85' is up for grabs. No motor parts sorry.

Welcome to the forum!

I must say that is one sweet deal you have there. Look around. Read a few posts. Ask questions. Get your bike running. Look around again. Ask a few more questions.

Then open up your wallet. That is when the fun really begins. You have all winter...

Good luck whichever path you chose to take. Its a sweet ride...

Great find Rob. She's in fine shape. $450 won't get you a gas tank these days.

OH YES IT WILL! I have an early model RZ gas tank, no holes, small repairable dent on one side.

UPDATE: Tank will be dent free and primed soon. Anyone need a early RZ tank?

Hey redline, nice bike. I wish I could find an RZ for $450. Anyway, I dont know what the plastic on an '83 RZ looks like, but I am looking for a bikini fairing for an '84-'85 American RZ. If your '83 has one and you are looking to sell.....let me know. PM me, or my email address is below.

Peace,
Joshua

Thanks for all the kind comments guys, as you can see the tear down is well under way. I will be sending the cylinders out in the coming weeks to get the cherry popped and take them to first over. Please note that I have some parts listed for a 1983 RZ350 in the "for sale" section. I don't have the instruments, tank, or engine parts for sale but do have a fairing but it is aftermarket. I have an Olins shock from the parts bike, which I will be getting rebuild next month at a cost of about $230.

I bought mine from a whole lot more than that and it needed tires and a new chain/sprockets.

Same colors as mine. I would like to get mine repainted and all body work 100% perfect, but it would cost too much.

Good Buy! I wish I had seen it. If you're looking to get some porting work or have pipes built, I know someone in the area who is very good.
