RZ with TSA pipes

#1 Post by Biz » Mon Sep 10, 2012 1:35 pm

Here are some photos of my RZ350 with Kenny's TSA pipes. SS pipes with CF silencers. The pipes were worth the wait! Beautifully made, fit well, good not-too-loud sound, good midrange power. Pics with and without cowling.

Yup, they were "spendy". But I got a really good price on my 20-year old Toomeys on ebay to offset about 1/3 of the cost.

I'm running Keihin 28mm PWKs which I bought pre-jetted for the RZ and they were pretty close as-is. Dropped the pilot a size or 2, and need to drop the mains. Using Uni pod filters. The bike has awesome low and mid range power with a combination of the PWKs, TSA pipes, Vforce reeds, and skimmed head. Even with stock gearing. Very smooth thanks to the PWK's much better carburetion, you barely know it's a 2-stroke, unlike my RD400 with similar mods. 'Cept for the smell of Motul 710 :smt001

Pwk jetting is:
Mains 152, probably need to go down, won't pull redline in third.
Pilots are 48 or 45. 50 was too rich.
Needle JJH, middle notch
Slide #35
I use the oil pump.
Bike runs great but maybe room for improvement.
The PWKs are also 2.5 lbs (1kg) lighter than the stock RZ carbs.

Got both type of fittings but the straight worked better. Make sure it is the smaller one, not for Banshee which is a larger diameter cable sheath.
