I'm a younger rider (22) and I've had my eye on a vintage 2-stroke street bike ever since my dad picked up an RZ500. My dreams finally came true a few weeks ago when I picked up this 1988 Yamaha TZR 250 2ME for $1900CND . Runs like a champ with 24xxx km on the clock. and sounds great! though I think it would sound even better with some Jim Lomas expansion chambers.

Here is a video of a cold one kick start if anyone is interested!

Looking forward to chatting with you all in the future :smt003

Great looking TZR. You got yourself a good deal there. Someone has taken very good care of that bike. It looks almost new.

The others are quite nice too :smt001

Sweet bike there. Check out Glyns pipes for the TZR, defnitely the ticket to performance and you being in canada is an advantage.

Nice collection too, a bike for every mood eh?

If you do go with aftermarket pipes and want to sell the stock pipes I'd be interested in them if they are in good shape. Mine have a little rash and I'm doing a stock restoration and could use nice stock pipes.

Do they fit with the stock bodywork Glyn? What performance increase can be expected?

They should fit under the stock fairing or be very close, I didn't have the fairing with the bike, still have the bike here :smt017 and a unpaid bill :smt011.

They will be quite an improvement over stock, but with any pipe you need to port the cylinders to get the best out of them.

Not much of a says man am I lol.

That guy is crazy! That's almost the price my old man got his RZ500 for.

No motor issues that I'm aware of.

I haven't had this bike on the road yet. It's next in line.
