RZ pics

#1 Post by Juicebox » Fri Apr 06, 2012 1:31 pm

I know I like looking at pictures of everyones bikes, so here are some pictures of mine. The first RZ I got back in March 2011 down in Tennessee. Right now it is getting some new tires, rear wheel barings, chain and sprockets.

Image

The second RZ I payed for last winter and just picked up last week. I got it from a guy I met last March while I was looking for my first RZ. He had 2 RZs at the time and was selling a RWB one. He also had this one which wasn't for sale at the time. He and I became friends, and last winter he decided to sell this one to me for cheap because he knew how much I loved these bikes. It also came with a second engine and a ton of parts. It doesn't have any signals or mirrors (I just put the stock mirror on quick so I could ride it home) so any suggestions would be appreciated. Should I just put stock mirrors on both sides?

I just put some wheel tape on it last night and I can't tell if I like it or not. What do you guys think?

And finally here is my real pride and joy. He loves "helping" me when I am working on the bikes and is a future enthusiast I hope.

I hope to take lots of pictures this summer as I ride around Wisconsin, so maybe I will post more pictures from interesting locations.

Juice, ditch the wheel tape!!!! Bike looks awesome with the blacked out wheels, swingarm, fork lowers....

Get the "yamaha" back on the tank and you've got a winner :smt023

Looks kinda like mine but I have the mini fairings :smt003

2 good lookin' bikes there juicebox! I agree with the others in removing that yellow wheel tape that doesn't match up. Sounds like you may have gotten those carbs sorted we were emailing offline about several months ago? :smt001

Hey Evans, nice to hear from you. The carbs on the first bike are good, but I know they could be better. Done a lot of reading on doing plug chops, but I dont think im ready to be doing those. Besides im sick of taking those carbs off. I think i'll take it to a shop that Eric Gorr recommended to me, have them tune it real nice. Then I think i'm done with that one for now. I just want to ride this summer. The second bike is a little poochy down low, but then at around 5500/6000 rpm it really takes off. Lifts the wheel in first and second, but I need to really do a good inspection on that bike. Like I said, some of this stuff might wait because I just want to ride all summer long.

Bikes look really good man. Glad you have you shared your pics with the board. I have to agree with removing the yellow. Definitely the engine covers but I'm up in the air on the wheel tape. It looks kinda cool but ya... in the name of keeping it "clean" going without it is probably better. Either way it's all personal preference. :smt002 I'm guessing Eric recommended Suters to tune it???

Hope you can make it down to the Crud Run on May 6th. More smokers the better!

Cbirk, Gorr recommended Mike's in Allenton so I think I will go there. Where is Suter's? Do you recommend them? I'm looking for a good shop. I've heard stories on this forum of guys who take their bikes somewhere and they say they can tune a 2 stroke, or rebuild a crank and they do no better than a home mechanic could do or worse. Trying to avoid that.

I am scheduled to work the whole weekend of the Crud Run. I would love to go if I can switch with anyone. Maybe we can meet up and say hello. Even though I have never met anyone from the forum, I feel that some of them are my friends....weird. I see you are looking for another flywheel. Good luck and safe riding.

to true... i have met some forum members and its like you bump into an old friend

met up with a few guys at motogp etc and some of the other guys are quite local to me... also some rz 500 owners etc...

common interests never lead to a boring meeting ... especially when its an open bar... [smilie=drunk.gif]

Bummer on the Crud Run. If you decide you can make it shoot me an email. Suter's is a speed shop that does mainly tuning. It seems they have a new website that looks like it's from the 90's.......weird.... http://sutersspeedshop.com/

I don't know much about them but I know of a few guys that had their bikes tuned there with good results. Hard to say though I would go with Erics recommendation. Ya, the flywheel is a bummer considering the reason it failed.. I bought another one from a forum member so the bike is back up and running.
