Petros
Was at it again today for a three hour jaunt in horse country. Where I took this pic, I was running on reserve fuel, got to the gas satation on fumes... literally
Gonna hit it again tomorrow after I get my chores done, supposed to be near 70 deg tomorrow, hopefully the tires will stick a bit better!!
Pete
Ok suckers just as promised, got up around 5:30ish, got the chores done for wifey, sucked down around 24 oz's of liquid caffeine and blew the dust off of this one:
After burning out all the lovely old ethanol, fueled up with fresh stuff and had a BLAST!!!! Just got back home and about to jump on the rz for another couple of loops.
Beautiful day here, around 70 deg. Lots of guys and gals out riding today. On yesterdays ride, I passed a Life Star helicopter just lifting off in a hay field a few miles from my house. Turns out a 37 year old woman flipped her quad on the street and wasn't wearing a helmet. Saw on the news this AM that she is in critical condition in Hartford Hospital.
Sooooo, at the risk of sounding like your mother, please gear up properly this season gents, whether your going on a all day trek or just riding to the corner store to get a pack of butts.
Time to get the bikes sorted, put the wrenches down, and post up guys, when you're out on a ride, snap a couple pics.... we LOVE pics Us guys who have waited for riding season are ready to roll...

Looks like a fantastic time Pete. Thank you for sharing the pictures.
But my feelings are hurt with what Petros said
I ride 1, 2, or 3 of my 3 running bikes almost every weekend.
But I don't carry a camera around with me unless I know I am going to go take some photos. But it is a PIA.
How are you taking these pictures?
Is it with a camera phone?

kpke, yes I use my phone to take these pics. I have hardwired mounts to my bikes and use phone apps for my GPS, Speedo/Odo, music ect...
It also has a GPS tracking app that I can turn on and off in case I end up in the woods, someone will be able to locate me. I ride alone most of the time in some pretty desolate areas.

Thanks Aaron, you've got some pretty stuff as well.
The Ape goes really good from 7500 on up, below that, nothing. Its definitely an odd machine to get used to. Handling is absolutely superb, rock solid on the lean, will do things in corners I would not think about doing on the rz. Braking is also excellent with VERY good feel.
Jumping directly from the rs and onto the rz is a real eye opener, the rz feels "dirt bike-ish" is the best way I can explain it. Riding position on the Ape is very race orientated with a very low COG. The chassis' are worlds apart, engines too. The rz is a torque monster compared to the rs and definitely revs slower. The rs revs so quick, the first 3 gears are gone in a heartbeat.
Its a bit odd, It seems the rs is a slower bike on acceleration, but its very deceiving, the rpms climb sooooo fast and gear changes are so quick, before you know it, you look at the speedo and its in triple digits!!! The chassis makes it feel like its going much slower.
Aaron, Rs250's have a pretty big following in Oz, do yourself a favor and trade bikes for a quick ride with a mates rs, you'll be looking for another addition to the family I recon Just be sure to set aside a few extra dollars for the cranks you'll be chewing up!!
Thanks for the pics, keep 'em coming guys!!!!
