Melanoma?

I had a bout of that on my left shoulder back in 2003. Scary shit. My wife caught it early enough - just barely. If I had left it another month, I wouldn't be here today.

Good reason to keep her.

Hope everything is going well with it.

Basal cell carcinoma so not as bad
I was surprised what a chunk they took out though and had to have internal stitching too :smt012

Nice old photos of the bikes...

My most invasive basal cell involved the lobe on the side of my nostril and the tip of the nose. I go to the Veterans administration hospital. The care there is somewhat rationed. I was diagnosed in July but the soonest surgery date was November. With the advent of Obummer care this delay will become more commonplace.

The first surgery was to remove the cancer then they ended up cutting a big v shaped chunk from my cheek and pulled over to rebuild the nose. after two weeks they cut the cheek flap loose from my cheek and trimmed it to fit onto the side of the nose. It was weird to see a big chunk of cheek bridged over to my nose. It came out pretty well.

My wife just had a dangerous bought with melonoma on her neck :smt010 for years it looked just like a mole, even our doctor said dont worry about it..its NOT cancer. the dermetologist said its not cancer...then cut it out..well then they biopsied it! :smt013 and discovered it was Melenoma so the had her in surgey within 1 week,as he had spead the cells every where . This was 6 weeks ago, all this while shes still recovering from uterine cancer scare. The hole and reconstruction they had to do to her neck,it huge to say the least, really major and really close....too close
FYI,Obama "care" has nothing to do with your wait..your dealing with the VA..They do give people the runaround sometimes..its frustrating and shouldnt be that way. It takes a long time to see doctors, has been this way for years, regardless of what anyone says.In the world of the norm non Vetrans Administration.
The insurance companies..dictate ALL rules and frankley decide who lives...and who dies. It it wasnt for this new legislation...my wife would be dead due to pre existing condition clauses and that is totally unacceptable, given the fact that she and everyone else in similar conditions stands a chance with modern medical care. I know the law is flawed..seriouslly flawed. But It was no or never, due to the politics. If the right wing had decided to work together on a common program...we wouldnt have been stuck with what we have now
I get frustrated with the people who go around saying..WERE AMERICA WE CAN DO ANYTHING...aparently...we cant :smt018 :smt009

Dont take any of this a slight..its just one families opinion,,nothing more ,nothing less ,unfortunatley you cannot seperate politics from everyday life. Regardless theres good with the bad..and it seems all of you and my wife have been lucky!, I Hope all of you the best and spread the word to people to GET CHECKED OUT,ALWAYS NO MATTER WHAT IT IS :smt002
