Barber Motor Sports is a very nice venue. The museum alone is worth the trip. If you are ever going down I20 east of Birmingham it is worth a stop. The first time I went it rained the first day which was good because I spent all day in the museum. I was overwhelmed with the displays. I have almost an hour of museum video on my Youtube channel. The first one is here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3mpZUqbvlc
This was shot in 2008 during the vintage weekend.
In 2009 I attended the AMA road race at Barber and had a pit pass and signature pass for the rider’s autograph sessions. Those were much better than the race. You can watch a short video of it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIs8w41poek

I had to go to Alabama on business last year so I left early and booked my hotel in Birmingham so I could get in an afternoon at the museum. I spent about 5 hours there and took hundreds of pictures, the place is awesome, anyone truly onto bikes should go. I honestly didn't want to leave, I felt like applying for a job there.

I went 3 days in a row, even the girl at the front desk was laughing the 3rd day!!

At one point, we (wife and i) were the only ones in there, my wife got the security guard to take me downstairs to storage area, open a door and there was like another 1000 bikes (not kidding) ready for resto, rows and rows, stacked to the ceiling!

Thats why i have been married for 25yrs, i showed her the Barber article in Classic Bikes, and she said lets go!!
Gerry

ps if anyone wants to see the storage area , i will email the pics and you can post for me
