My bike (one of them)

#1 Post by mxc300 » Sun Aug 03, 2008 8:28 am

This is my work in progress ImageThis bike was part of a package deal. The bike you see here and another bike

with no motor but everthing there, (although as little rough). The deal also included

a pickup bed and a half full of parts. The bikes do have titles. There are enough

parts there to be able to put together 3 complete motors minus chambers. There

are several sets of barrels and each one has been ported differently from mild to

wild, street to track. 5 sets of heads with only one being milled. There are 6 sets of

carbs. 4 VM28's, (with one set of individual carbs) 1 pair of 36.5mm Mikuni's, and

one set of 41mm Delorto's. There is tons of body work (not in the best shape, but

repairable and usable) including a TZ replica fairing. There are 3 sets of pipes

including 2 toomys and 1 unknown. Also a lot more various parts.

The bike you see here was extensivley modified. It has Marchesini wheels, a

combination of Brembo & Grimeca brakes, Yamaha OWO1 forks, Calfab

swingarm, Toomy pipes & battery box, triple clamps of unknown origin (but

definatly not stock), Ohlins shock, port work, Scitsu tach, Daytona temp. gauge,

Tomesselli clip ons, ? steering damper, ? rear sets, etc. The gas tank has been

modified by adding a vent and replacing the gas cap with a flush one from a boat.

Almost everything has been safety wired. The frame has been beefed up by

removing the braces from the down tube and the backbone and replacing it with a

longer one and joining them with a piece of sheet metal. I have no idea who has

done the porting but there is a large "N" on the barrels. (If anyone can identlfy the

insignia please let me know).

Future plans for this bike will be a complete tear down over the winter, new paint

& powder coat and the addition of a cowling & headlights from an early model

KTM Duke (which I think goes pretty well with the angularity of the tank, etc.) It's

going to be somewhat of a cross between a road racer & street fighter. I got all

this stuff for the cost of $3000 and a few beers. I couldn't pass this up!

Cheers
