Steve, These 250s are not like i remember in the 80s But I'm a lot older and a little wiser now. I just finished the break-in and have been sustained wot and man I need a cinder block on the front end to keep it down. I'm really looking forward to some track time
Oh yeah, my adrenal glands work overtime when aboard. I love being scared

That thing is race ready right out of the box. I remember when you bought an MX bike, you had to then go get a pipe, get new wheels, send the suspension off, hog the hell out of the cylinder, screw with the head, and spend a week jetting. Then, and only then, you might be able to keep up. Gone are those days. These things are damn near works bikes when you get them now. The big four have done a marvelous job with them.
You will need to get used to riding with your head in front of the bars where if you looked down, you would see the front fender. It's about the only way you can keep the front wheel planted.
And they fly as well as they carve the corners. Got your pilot's license?
Damn I miss MX.
Be careful, but don't let that get in the way of the fun.

I was thinking that 2004 might have ben the last year for the two stroke trials machines when I bought my SY250R (Scorpa-Yamaha); turns out that they're still making them even though the four strokers are making serious progress. No regrets here, other than the fact that it won't be the last of the two stroke models.
It doesn't really matter since it wasn't bought to sit & be a museum piece but is my primary competition bike. It sure was pretty when new, though!
A closer pic of the Yama-heart of this beauty!
Two strokes rule; four strokes drool...

Yes Steve this thing is a works bike from the factory it's truly amazing to ride and setup. For example titanium spring? wtf man, who wha? nevermind
Don t. I haven't laid eyes on a trials bike in years, man that thing is a work of art. I tried the yz in the woods the other day not good though. This thing needs the sand pits in Jersey. Oh yeah Steve I do have my A.T.P. and fly for a major airline, ( For Now). My father keeps asking me If I think I'm at work when I ride, too many multi gear wheelies in the front pasture!

I know this is becoming an old post, but to add to the last 2 stroke question. I know it is not a Yamaha, but KTM is playing around with 2 strokes in conjunction with Rotax. Bombardier ( Manufacturer of the E-Tech outboard 2 stroke) by Evinrude has come pretty close to perfecting it.
If there is a market for it, and clearly there is, maybe we will see dirt and street 2 strokes back.
Consequently the E-Tech engines surpase current European standards for even 4 strokes, not to mention they look cool.

Live long, and smoke 'em if you got 'em!
