Turn back time shot

#1 Post by expat » Sun Jan 04, 2015 9:21 pm

I found the pic below and uploaded it, my RD350LC, bought new in 1981 for 995 UK pounds and immediately modified with as many parts as I could lay my hands on.. Pro-Am fairing, All speed pipes, drilled rotors etc etc. I was 18 at the time so please excuse my "squidness" with little protective gear! (although I am sporting a period correct UFO tour T-shirt!)

So, come on guys, lets see your "TBT" pics!

Superb pic! This is the sort of image I have in my head when I think of the UK version of On Any Sunday in the early 80s :)

LOL John. Don't recall a UK version??
I was in the West Yorkshire area, lots of hooligan activities back in the day! Moved to the States in 97 but go back as often as possible for a pint and a curry!

Loved UFO back in the day. Most in North America have no idea who they are. Not many here listened to Ian Gillan either.
I had an '81 as well, in '82. I was 19 then. I will see if I can upload a pic. Another "squid" shot.

You still have the same bike? I wish I still had mine, I am trying to find the plate number and will check on the database in the UK to see if it is still registered.... Now that would be a challenge to try and get it back if it still exists!!

15 years ago, post surgery aboard the RG500MK5. Note the 8 pins protruding from my left arm (awarded to me 3 weeks earlier by a 19 year old squid at Loudon in a 4 hour endurance race aboard the Aprilia). The strangest piece of riding gear I ever wore!!!
