Sheep River Ride - Sun Jun 16

#1 Post by Hooligan » Mon Jun 17, 2013 12:40 am

Myself, Von Zipper, Off Road and my wife and Von Zipper's son got out for a nice ride today. We covered about 150 kms with the weather actually being pretty decent. We had three RZ's (1990, 1986, 1983 Hybrid), an LC and a decidedly ratty Honda four stroke.

Near Bragg Creek. The weekend traffic was silly so we decided to go a different direction.

Steve got a bit low on gas so we took a detour into the town of Turner Valley. Yes, that is the infamous Mr Off Road posing beside his not so "low budget" and not at all "purple" project bike. :smt023

One guess as to what natural resource is key in this area ...

There is an excellent motorcycle shop in Turner Valley called Motorrad so we had to stop by and see their new digs. As usual a pack of aged smokers rolling in caused quite a stir. :smt039

All in all it was nice to get out and ride with a group of 2-strokes. :smt023

Hey guys. That was a lot of fun. A sunny day, no real destination, and all day to get there.

And it was pretty interesting, because I usually ride alone.
It's certainly different when you're in a group of bikes, trying to keep track of where everyone is, and what they're doing.

Like one minute we're cruising down the road, and the next, we're hanging a left on highway 762.

Nice picture. Is that guy dancing, or flapping his arms trying to fly?
Looks Photo-shopped to me. :smt003

BTW I forgot to tell Steve that the purple/black not so budget bike sounds fantastic when it comes on the pipe.

Looks like a nice place to ride. All green and clean. The opposite of where I live.

Great pics. Great bikes!
