straight cut drive gears
Moderator: rztom
I don't know of any straight cut oil pump gears. These gear sets were for banshees and race bikes where the oil pump would not be required or wanted. However, that doesn't stop you from having one made. Since the drive gear is bigger, then that would make the straight cut oil pump gear smaller. this would cause more oil to pump per rev of the engine. Some readjustment would be required.

Steve
those gears came from a TZ...
FJ, tomorrow I'll count...
but it gave me 2,538
I'll check again if the driven (basket) is the same size as stock.
RE-CHECKED
Edit:
DAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUMN, I'M SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!
The drive is 26... the driven is 72...
72/26 = 2,7692307692307692307692307692308
then 6 gear ratio is 0.889, my final chain ratio is 2.294117 with 190/55 ZR17 at 10.000rpm hummmmmm
213.9kph with staright tooth powah!

We had a racing class (RD cup between 86-89 I guess) here on Brazil that were only RDs racing, and no "engine" mods was allowed...but this was placed inside the engine and if makes more power and can't be seen, it's great... they're used to change the 1YH stupid with 2. squish for the 31k head too...FJ55 wrote:I'm also curious as to what TZ they came out of. I done minimal research, but have been unable to find any TZ reference to that ratio primary.
Nath, until now it's straight plug 'n play I'll post some pics from the engine buildup...nath wrote:hellmanns, are you saying these came from a TZ and will fit the RZ basket or some modification is required ?

All TZ I know have dry clutches. This one is wet clutch. From the morphology (layout) of the TZ350 engine there is no oil pump, but a water pump close to the oil pump position.
I think that these gears are specialy made for RZ350 to be hidden under the OEM clutch cover.
I said hidden because the class was for non modified RZ350

Geosot,
the TZ primary it's the little driver gear on the same pic, the guy who gave me this gear kit lost the driven part... :(

I put in ebay a couple of straight cut primaries that run on roller bearings and with oil pump gear.smurph wrote:I don't know of any straight cut oil pump gears.
