Lol...the dreaded best oil, kinda similar to best pipe questions..Its all good though!
There is no best, you will just end up with literally 20 different opinions and recommendations. All I can truthfully say is I've used virtually everything over the years, in premix and injector and have NEVER had a single problem with anything. A large part in your decision making will be your intended riding application.

(My preference for street riding is of course 1.) injector and 2.) A synthetic one that claims to reduce smoking. Synthetic s have proven themselves to me in just about everything I've ever owned, even crankcase, some claim clutch slippage issues with synthetic? but I've run it in 80cc bikes to RZs to real 140+ hp oil cooled GSXRs and always performed perfect.
Opinions and options are wide open in 2 stroke oils from castor to synthetics and everything in between
Best just to read up on websites and or manufacters as there's a multitude of applications from street riding to racing. Here's some good reading to start you off with!

Run whatever you like. It doesn't matter. This has been asked a number of times, search the forum. It always ends up in a crapshoot. If you are seizing engines then care, if not don't worry about it. I've put everything from Castor to syn-injector to cheapy cdn tire injector without issues. as noted above, use injector oil if you are injecting... Clutch obv does not get injector oil in a 2-stroke...

I've had great results with Amsoil Interceptor. Not cheap but clean......really clean. When disassembling I've been able to wipe the residue from the chamber....what little there is.....with a rag.

I'm using Motul injector. Runs great. Run whatever you can consistently get your hands on. Your bike will like you for that.

I still have 22 bottles of Silkolene Comp 2 Synthetic left over from my racing days in the early 90's. Will be running that. It always performed well on the track. Bottles have changed but it is still available.

Since everyone has a different favorite oil, it may be better to ask-

"What brand/type of oil should I avoid, and why?" :smt023

I used Motul 710 for years with no issues, switched to Amsoil Interceptor a couple of years ago as it is easier to find and as T-Rex says, it is very clean.

Avoid castor bean oil. It fouls plugs with chunks of carbon. Does not burn completely, due to impurities. (High sulphur content).

Synthetics burn cleaner and have increased heat protection. That being said it's tough to find a bad oil.

TC-W3 (outboard motor) oils are very good oils and are suitable for motorcycle use. So if budget is yer thing WalMart outboard oil is a solid choice. At $13 USD a gallon it's cheap too.

Castor is good stuff with a history in high stress applications and has been used for decades.

Maybe so, but you don't want to use this stuff. Trust me, synthetics are the way to go. (Especially if you use the cheap plugs, B8ES, B9ES).

I avoid Bel-Ray S2
Many moons ago I opened a fresh bottle of it, poured it into the reservoir of my prized DT200R.
Went for a ride and immediately seized the engine.
When I got home I drained the oil out and it was thick and sticky like maple syrup!
I don't know what the hell happened there. The bottle still sits on my wall of shame in my basement.
I use Amsoil Interceptor although it has been hard to find sometimes.

Back in the '80s Bel-Ray had a bad batch of 2 stroke oil. Caused a load of ruckous. I was using MC-3 injector oil at the time in my LC. I had a couple of bad bottles. It was visibly different. I switched to Yamalube. Had trust issues with Bel-Ray after that. Nothing is the same with them. I was away too long to know what's going on, about 23 years.
