I'm wondering if the bore clearance is out of spec, and the engine vacuum is causing the sticky behaviour. Too much slide slop. Perhaps you should look into having the carb body bored out for a new set of slides, slightly larger...

I used to run the first gen LCs. Great upgrades include, RZ350 carbs and petcock with RD jetting. I ran this set-up for a # of years. TZ250 F or G clutch springs. I was looking for an '86-'90. Never owned an RZ350 before, just RDLCs.
