Re: RZ350/R1 BRAKE ADAPTERS

I did this conversion back in September and kept meaning to post about it. I can't recommend this upgrade enough, what a dramatic difference. :smt007 Per a suggestion further back in this thread, I went with the FZ8 master, calipers, and hoses. It all bolted right up except for the union in the brak...

Re: Plug chop picture -- opinions appreciated

Thanks for the info! Looks like standard 2" SCH-40 PVC will be close enough for an inner support ring... pretty sure I have some scrap pieces of that in the basement somewhere. K&N RU-0810 is like $34 on Amazon. :smt004 Additionally, Redline Motorsports sells the filter (although theirs is ...

Re: Plug chop picture -- opinions appreciated

Sounds good, I now have the Dynojet 4304 kit on order (seller through Amazon, about $48). Do you know what model/part # K&N filter I should order (the search function on this forum isn't liking the ampersand in K&N)? I think it may be stamped on the plate on the top of the filter? I see lots...

Re: Plug chop picture -- opinions appreciated

Thanks guys, appreciate the input. I did some digging on the forum :smt024 and found a long thread about the kits Toomey offered in 2012, and differences in taper between 5K1, Toomey 2012, and Dynojet STage 3 (DNO404) needles. I'll have to track down a pair of the DNO404 needles. 2 more questions: 1...

Plug chop picture -- opinions appreciated

First a little background -- I recently installed pipes and 2-1 air filter from that limited run Toomey did a few years ago. I also installed a set of V-Force 3 reeds I had on hand. Long story short, the jetting that Toomey suggested was way off for my bike (too lean all around). Still running the s...

Just curious as to how the projection of the reed cage into the inlet tract varies (if at all) between the stock cages and an aftermarket cage (i.e. V-Force). What I'm getting at is, might the V-Force (or other cage) be shorter than stock and be less of an obstruction to the boost port, without havi...

I rescently put a steering damper om my 350 LC and I gotta say DAAAAYAMN! This thing really DOES help! Mine's a fairly budget type of damper, this model I believe: http://www.icracing.com/images/Damper.jpg It's an adjustable damper, you have 7 different settings on it but I only tried the sloppiest...

Re: Another Photo form the GLORY DAYS

Here is another pic that I found, thought that I'd post it for those of you who might not know what and RZ or RD looks like :smt003 . Was taken in late 88. Mine is the blue RZ and the other bike is an 82 LC. The guy taking the picture (that was his LC) just sold it to the newb sitting on the LC. Ca...

I got a little over 5,000 on my Roadriders. Same thing, the center has flattened to the point that there is very little distinguishable tread left there. But that's due to my riding style... lots of hard straight-line acceleration, and not very hard cornering. So what. [smilie=clown.gif]

Yeah I have the Roadriders on now... I like em I guess, sort of tempted to try BT45s as well. I was looking at Kenda K657s (I think) and wondering if the 120/90s would fit. I was looking at tiresunlimited.com, they have a free shipping promo right now, but would hate to order something, take the whe...

What size tires will fit a stock RZ?

I searched, but I guess this topic hasn't been covered, at least not explicitly... I wore out my Avon Roadriders, at least the rear... I liked the Roadriders for the type of riding I do, and they come in the stock sizes, but am wondering what other tire sizes will fit the stock rims? My bike is an '...

I'm guessing this mod only works for the later model RZs (i.e. 86+ Canadian/Euro models)? It wouldn't work on my '85 US model RZ, would it?

I tried, but I could not find a fan that would fit on the inside of the radiator (pull fan)... either the thermostat housing was the problem, or the crotch of the frame tubes. I ended up with (I THINK) a SPAL 6.5" low profile fan I got off of eBay. It was marketed as a pull fan, but when it wou...

Re: 2 stroke oil purchase

Last time I bought a case of Yamalube 2S I got it for 3.99 qt from Derby Cycles. I have finally burned it up. That was 2/1/09. Now it's 5.99 qt. 1. What are you using? 2. Where do you buy it from? 3. How much is it per qt, gal, etc.? If we can not debate what's best but just reply answering the que...
