What size front and rear sprockets should I use? I'm thinking 16 tooth front and 44 tooth rear. Any recommendations? :smt017 I'm not sure how it's going to work with your front sprocket location, but I have a SXV550 and the chain sliders wear very quickly (less than 1000kms) when you go below 43T. ...

But you will need to stop the sprocket from moving sideways somehow.

Exactly. Though i cant help thinking that there's a better solution for the first chain. You might want to contact SKF about their Duplex sprocket range http://www.skfptp.com/details.aspx?id=357062&lng=1 To keep the sprocket aligned you would need do something like recessing the sprocket and fit...

Well, I never give up, even when I want to. :smt003 Now that I realize the chain will still rub on the bottom of the pivot with the idler sprocket , a twin sprocket on the swingarm pivot is looking better (although if i use the idler and teflon guard on the bottom, I don't have to chop the swingarm...

I had a look at this, the cases don't really fit in the frame, would need alot of modification. I agree with ax-racing that the german project or Kazz's project would be a better path to take. What a great pic!! I only wish I had access to an SXV with the engine out - and an RZ engine to test fit! ...

For mounting the front of the RZ engine in the Aprilia frame, I think I could weld brackets to the steel part of the frame to hold two front brackets which would go to the front RZ engine mounts and then to the outside of the aprilia front frame mounts. The engine weight would be supported by the u...

Other than that it rocks!
Not just that, the air that does reach the heads will have been heated by the pipes also

Do you have any pictures of these conversions? from the mounting bolt holes on both covers in the photo, the shaft location appears to be different. Ie the TZ350 water pump shaft appears to be positioned more foward than the RZ350 oil pump shaft. The benefit of an electric water pump would be that y...

Negative, that is a TZ350 dry clutch cover mounted to a YPVS engine. Boltpattern is the same. Waterpump is different and the oilpump is missing. http://members.home.nl/coeno/MEUK/M4110015.JPG So if you wanted to fit a dry clutch on a RZ track bike you could do it with a TZ clutch cover, premix and ...

I would of thought those cast case covers would be very difficult to weld. You have done a terrific job. Will you be using the ducati oil seals as well?

T. Rex, Conversions pretty easy, a couple of adapter plates that mount to the RZ frame,6 spacers and doing the bearings. The VJ22 swingarm is a couple mm's shorter then the RZ arm so it fit's inside the frame with no mod's to the pivot tube. As long as your shock has the same bottom attachment as th...
