Re: Stand ...alone suggestion

I've used one of those mc lifts (as in your first pic) for everything from a dirt bike to a Harley without any problems at all. Mine has a provision for tie-down straps from the bike to the stand, not sure if the HF model has that or not. I've owned one of those HF work stands for 20 years or more, ...

TZR 250 on BAT

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1992- ... r250r-3xv/

This looks like a pretty nice example. Probably a day of driving from where I live, and MAN, It's tempting. I used to race a TZ-250 and always wanted a TZR.

Re: RD350LC Carb choice

I'm running the stock carbs on my Canadian-spec RD with Toomey pipes and mild porting. They work great and flow all the fuel I need for my set-up. Back in the late 80's I raced an RZ with a full Spec II set up (carbs, pipes, porting, crank) and the Spec II modified Mikuni 32's gave me no trouble at ...

Re: Pretty sure I have a bad crank seal...

You're actually leaning out your air-fuel mixture when you put in too much oil. That probably won't matter much if you're running rich anyway, but if you're right on the edge of running lean it could. Your plugs will foul more quickly, too, with twice as much oil as the bike needs. Stick your finger...

Re: Pretty sure I have a bad crank seal...

And just as an aside, it's a bad idea to run premix AND oil injection.

Do you have a thread that covers building that "RD"? I'd love more details?

Re: Plug chop

Interesting. I see that the ground electrode of plug A shows the lean mixture, but plug B and C look about the same to my eye. The outside of the part you cut off, the threaded part of the electrode, looks much darker on plug C, but it looks dark on A, too. I'm surprised that the insulator looks pur...
