Re: Add Kerosene?
I run nothing but 94 with Ethanol in my bike. I do add a splash of race gas because I love the smell plus you get the added lubrication from the lead. I run nothing but 94 in my car and it helps with detonation. I've run an 11.55@118mph at the track and that is with a 1.88 60ft and an unlocked conve...

Re: mirror stem rubber
If you look at NOS mirrors they actually have two way tape to stick to the fairing. I was going to take a picture but I'm too lazy. Aftermarket mirrors do not have this.

Re: Where to buy Yamaha parts?
We have 2 Yamaha dealers here, one has been around for over 40 years but has changed owners. I think there use to be 4 here in the late 80's, early 90's. Four for sure because I can still remember the names. I bought my 85 RZ350 from one that closed it's doors in the early 90's.

Re: Where to buy Yamaha parts?
Yeah John, I try to get the parts from the local Yammy dealer. That is where I bought the rad cap from. I was just floored by the difference in price for the same NOS piece! I did buy some new parts for the SRX on ebay at prices less than what some are asking for old used ones.

Where to buy Yamaha parts?
I'm trying to restore my 1981 SRX440 and I have most the parts I need but I need a few little odds and ends. I was looking at Partzilla and was floored by the insane prices! I ordered a new rad cap and paid $40 cdn, Partzilla wanted $83.66 us! So where would you guys look to get parts NOS or afterma...

Great story and great run! That must be a good feeling to still hold the record this many years later?

Re: 1984 RZ350 review - Revzilla
FWIW: the TSS front suspension of the 80's Yamaha snowmobiles was an aircraft landing gear knock-off. The V-Max name is borrowed from the MAX-Throttle position of the F-15 Eagle. If you look, you can find aviation industry influence in many bikes and cars- especially in the 80's. Funny you mention ...

Re: Livermore pics
Thanks guys. WEAR YOUR GEAR I suspect I would have had to make a trip to the hospital if I wasn't. And it so happens since I was testing new main jets I figured I might be going fast a bit, and it was a very cool day, I chose the race leathers rather that the summer outfit. Good choice on that day ...

Re: stuborn nut
I would hit it with penetrating oil and let it sit and hit it again. If that doesn't work try heating it up. I don't know how much force your impact has. But I had an issue with a machine shop forcing on my dampener on the car and cross threading the balancer bolt. My air impact didn't work but I ha...

I guess that makes sense but that add still has scam written all over it. Someone should contact the guy and ask for pictures of the electric start!

Re: 1987 RZ350
A guy just left my place after looking at a box truck that I want to sell. He has to check with his wife. I almost laughed aloud with this string fresh in mind. I guess it comes down to who controls the money. My cousin is well to do and he never runs anything by his wife. He tells her what he is d...
