Re: RZ350 Ypvs Hybrid South Africa

GDA1, You could have used the stock RZ350 bearing pivot tube as well, if you don't mind looking at an alternative I'll e-mail you some pictures of how I've done the VJ22/23 swingarms for the RZ's, pretty much the same as you've done using the adapter plates, only real difference is in setting up the...

Re: RZ350 Ypvs Hybrid South Africa

Just wondering why you used bushings instead of bearings in the swingarm?

Re: My completed 85 RZ hybrid project

RZed,

VJ22 shock works with the VJ23 swingarm, when you use the adapter brackets that bolt to the lower center stand bracket. Using the VJ23 brake calipher and bracket would allow you to get
rid of having to use the brake stay arm. Bike looks nice.

I've done the 3XV for the RZ500 but not the 350, seems a bit on the long
side for the 350. Were you planning on using the bearings in the 3XV arm
or the RZ bearings and pivot tube. I believe there's a step inside the tube.

3XV swingarm is approx. 226 mm wide at the pivot tube with the dust caps installed, RZ is 206.

If your thinking about the VJ23 you'll want the factory de-restricted model.

Bondbmw,

The VJ arms work nicely on the RZ, so does the front end, get the " SP "
version for either the VJ22 or 23. If you can get the 23 swingarm the
pivot tube is 200mm long so you don't have to cut anything.

Bondbmw, Not sure about what a manual say's, I measure everything for myself just to make sure before I cut anything, I'm doing the FZ swingarm now also as well as a 3MA for a guy in Texas, Waiting on new swingarm bearings, bearing pivot tubes and dust caps and washer to show up for both arms before...

swingarm

Bondbmw, The RZ350 swingarm bearing pivot tube is 200mm long ( as you've found out ) with the dust cap washers 2mm's thick (each) the dust caps are 1mm thick ( each ) will give you 206mm . The RZ bearing tube should fit just fine without cutting anything off the ends, at least it does on the swingar...
