I think the 250 exhausts had washer type choke in them, seem to remember a member documenting the removal.

Stainless steel has a lower yield point than high carbon steel , which is why S/S is not used in high tensile situations.

watched a video on a guy using a socket heated up with a torch then placing the socket in the inner race to transfer the heat and was able to install the bearing on and off for a good minute.
i will turn up a heat sink out of copper and try this.

Wow interesting, these were bearings supplied by Kawasaki Mark? (loved the KDX's back in the day... had a mid 90s 250SR but the 220 was a much better bike really for off road, the 250 was a flyer with the Boysens drilled apparently as its a detuned KZ motor really, I never drilled mine and its was ...
