Re: Exhaust: primer prior to paint?

No primer and yes two coats would be nice. You can metal etch it if you want to battle the rust. Some etches act as primers too. What paint are you going to use? People seem to have good luck with the BBQ paint but I have never used it.

Re: Fastner help

All the oem nuts and bolts get real expensive in a hurry and if you use hardware store stuff, it will be the first thing someone points out on your "restoration" bike. I am bringing a bike back from the grave and it came with zero hardware and it is a pain in arse. Just a thought. If you w...

Gloss black epoxy paint is nice. Powdercoat is also nice. I have also used urethane enamel with good results. Its easy to fix if it does get scratched.

Re: Gas Tank question

Solder would be proper but I bet a good epoxy would be also good for a long while. No I have never seen one of these mounts break off but that doesn't mean it can't happen.

Needle and seat? If the float floats and is set proper, then it has to be needle and seat problem I would think. You mention replacing the needle but not the seat. Just a thought.

Re: My Blinged-Out RZ Project

I think that was well said and not too open. People are afraid to talk about death but in reality we are all dying the second we are born. Some people will have better knowledge on when it is their time and will probably adjust their lives to accommodate this. That's what my Mom did. This sounds lik...

Re: On line or print motorcycle mags?

Motorcyclist covers a variety of riding and I find the articles well written. Sometimes they try to get too artsey with the pix where a simple side shot of the bike would do but I find it keeps me interested in a lot of motorcycle activities that I haven't done yet or might be interested in. They do...

I have to say, I have learned a lot about jigging frames and fabbing stuff from your great pix. Keep up the amazing work.

RM stator rewinds coils and are very good about technical questions like what you are asking. You might want to give them a call.

Re: Mice!!!!

I put out a lot of poison. I get the humane traps then put the decon inside and it keeps the pets out. I also put them up above dog level in the garage so there wont be a problem. There are other dog proof traps that you can make with pvc pipe on youtube. I also use the snap traps to monitor how bad...
