Re: crankshaft rebuilding

I agree with the pricing of new cranks. They are not to bad . But for the hard dyi guys, i found this on how to rebuild even the centers, by using a jig. But I believe it can be done without as well. The key is to check the 180 accuracy afterwards and this links shows how this can done. Even useful...

Re: crankshaft rebuilding

When assembling a crank from new parts, a fixture (sometimes referred to as a "jig") is used to properly align the crank web for 180 degree offset pins on the center section. If you are rebuilding one, you might be able to get away without using a fixture, assuming you are reusing the cran...

Re: LED tail lights

You don't need to worry about the low current draw on the brake lights. That only affects blinkers. The blinker box will see a low load and flash really quickly or not at all. So a resistor may be necessary for blinkers only. Since the blinkers are not on very much, I just run regular incandescent b...

http://www.use-enco.com If you want to go commercial. Might be a better route than e-bay if you are not real knowledgeable about the things at which you are bidding or looking.

But you just have to love ebay if you know what you are after!

Honestly guys, neither Tom nor I touch the server. We never have to. All we do is login via our accounts and FTP content to it. But we don't have the ability to restart any services or reboot it. So unless one of the IT guys at the server farm is reading your posts about connection issues with the s...

I'm not having any problems either. But, I know that people are having issues. Because why would they mention it otherwise? :smt003 So here are some things to check if you can't access the forum or can't logon: 1. Get a command prompt and do "nslookup www.rzrd500.com" (don't type the quote...

Mine has never cracked or moved in any shape, form, or fashion either. And the funny thing is that I made up a plate to reinforce the area and just never got around to putting it on. That was wasted time that I'll never get back. Put it this way... If you bend or crack that area (even modified) it m...

Oh boy... I guess I have to go take a look at this thread. Sorry for not being around much. I've pretty much gotten around the health crap, so don't worry about that.

I just changed jobs and have a more flexible schedule than I did the last 2 years. So I'll keep a closer eye on things.

Oh man... I hope for your speedy recovery Steve. I had a collapsed lung myself once. Had to deal with a chest tube for 13 days. Developed pleurisy from the damned rubber tube rubbing against my lung. Worst pain ever! Breaking my leg in 8 places was far more comfortable. But the really painful thing ...

My results were much better than I ever expected. In the end, the bike ran flawlessly. Weather changes and all. Pipe temps changes were compensated for because it changed the air demand. A lazy kick was all that was required to start no matter what the ambient temp was. But it was not easy getting t...

High Gain, Nice to have you here. Guys, his system looks to be a more polished version of what I did on my RZ350 with the MegaSquirt. If he can put together a kit that is easily installed, then that will be the cat's meow! And it's nice looking too. For those of you that want to compare: http://www....

I'm ok. Just didn't have power from over a week and a half. Massive damage here. The tornado was an EF4 that went through here. It wiped out down town Cullman. A direct hit. :( It missed my house. But only a 1/4 mile away! Crap won't be normal around here for years. I'll post a vid of the thing when...

Well... There still is a requirement to know your speed. Not having a speedo is no excuse for speeding. Obviously, having such a device as a speedo helps one determine your speed. But there is no specific requirement to have one. I guess people can count seconds to and from objects to gauge speed. O...

Heh, the only thing required in the State of Alabama is a headlight and a functional tail/brake light. Who needs the other stuff? :) Although, I like the speedo for keeping tickets to a minimum. A temp gauge is nice to keep from melting down if you spring a leak and didn't know it. And I really like...
