Fork Tube Soft Jaws

I have been 3D printing stuff from a semi-flexible plastic when it occurred I could make custom soft jaws to fit fork tubes. The jaws are custom fit to the vise for support. They are held to the vise via small magnets glued into pockets on the backside. The jaws in these pics are for KYB 48mm forks ...

Good luck, LC's are rare as hen's teeth these days and ones that don't require a ton of work to put back to nice are even rarer. Basically comes down to how much do you want one and how much are you willing to pay?

Re: SV rim

Will it? Yes.

Is it a super tight fit and does it require an offset front sprocket? Yep.

Re: Mid Range Issues between 5000 - 6500rpm

I entirely eliminated the midrange flat spot on my LC (stock pipes w loud inserts) just by installing a set of 6mm reed spacers. However I note the OP has already installed reed spacers.

I've got a set of emulators and new springs to install. Haven't even started on them yet.

Re: RZ350 - Blue Spot - R1 discs.

I did the R1 calipers on my 84RZ . I ran the stock master cylinder with stainless lines and thought the brakes felt a little wooden. I switched to a FZ1 master cylinder ( mainly because it looked stock and I could still mount the mirror on it ) and it made it feel a lot stronger. It was what I was ...

Re: RD350LC midrange range flat spot.

A set of 6mm reed spacers will completely eliminate the midrange stumble. My bike will pull cleanly all the way through the rev range, even in 6th gear.

The downside to the reed spacers is they make getting the carb rubbers (between carbs and the airbox) is PIA to install.

Re: YSS Shock

I bought a YSS for my FZ and wasn't overly impressed with it. Took a bit of work to make the thing fit. I have a Hagon on my LC and really like it. The Hagon is a very nice unit with good performance.

Re: SmartCarb 28mm billet carbs

The price is the limiting factor when we need two of them. Maybe a larger one with a Y-boot intake would be the key.

Steve, your shop is starting to look like Rory's. You guys know its not a competition to see who can own the most RZs right?

What would it cost to get my LC jetting sorted on the dyno? I'm tired of screwing with it and not really knowing it its correct.

No thermostat on an LC. Thats why they are super cold blooded and take forever to warm up.

Re: Total restoration 4l0 model three strips

In my 35 years of owning an LC, I think I have had an overheating issue maybe once or twice. The thing you should be extremely careful about is running the engine too cold with a fan when one is not needed.

Re: Total restoration 4l0 model three strips

The 65mm pistons, I would have them available here on site, while the 64.5mm ones, I would have to order them in the U.K. Unfortunately with brexit shipments have very long shipping times, now you are subject to customs duties, about 30% - To what extent can the cylinders of the RD-LC be ground, bo...

No. YPVS reed cages are much wider than the LC units. Just flow the LC reed cages and add a good set of carbon reeds and that will work fine.

Re: R1 Blue Dot Brake Upgrade Recommendations

Then you are going to need a set of conversion plates. Even then I would suggest the FZ08 master cylinder as it is a better match to the Blue Spot calipers. FWIW, this is exactly the brake system I have on my LC. I went to a set of early 31K forks and triples but they look identical to the LC front ...
