It certainly wouldnt be my choice if I only had one bike but as a bike to go for a blast along some of my local roads, yes please.

Re: Uploading pics. What is the best service now??
Quick update on Photo Bucket. Seems they are broke and want some customers back. From $500 to $20. I think if they had tried $20 first up they might have had more success. http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/your-photobucket-pics-are-back.1315831/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return ...

Re: Dry Lake Racers Australia Speedweek 2018
Hey Rory, that was not my ride but the owner's. I had just got off it after a similar experience but seeing as it hadnt done it to him before he decided to have a ride on the long track. My top speed was 164. That was when the weave started and same as the ride on the video as soon as you throttle o...

Re: Dry Lake Racers Australia Speedweek 2018
If some one I know and trust says not to do something I generally dont do it. If lots of people that I know and trust say not to do something :smt017 The rules say that a steering damper must be fitted, they dont say it has to be operational. 7.B.17 Steering Damper: Required in all classes 7.B.19 Ch...

Re: Dry Lake Racers Australia Speedweek 2018
Hey Rory, Im not sure that I want to find out. This thing is a hand full as it is. If it made it worse I might not be here to tell the story. Sometimes you just need to take someones word as what is best.

Re: Dry Lake Racers Australia Speedweek 2018
Ive asked these people the question, there responses were all the same. 3 have world records, 3 regularly ride on the salt over 200 mph. Im not going to try something they dont recommend. Im not sure of the science behind it but will look into it. I know these people personally and trust their opini...

Re: Dry Lake Racers Australia Speedweek 2018
Hey Smoker, I would rather fix the problem the bike has than try and mask it with more steering damper. I think there is a weight distribution problem. The ballast was put on the swing arm thinking that it would have traction problems once approaching 200 mph but first we need to get there and in co...

Re: Dry Lake Racers Australia Speedweek 2018
All the really fast guys say to run dampener on minimum, they have been going fast longer than me and lived to tell me how to do it. I trust their judgement.
Some things you just have to believe. If I tightened it up I might not be here to tell the tale.
Dave.

Re: Dry Lake Racers Australia Speedweek 2018
Hey Smoker, steering damper is compolsory on all bikes and is checked in scrutineering. Most riders turn them down to minimum setting me included. Also most limit the steering lock to around 7 deg. eather side of straight ahead, a total of 14 deg. lock to lock. The bussa has had 3 slappers all abov...

Re: Dry Lake Racers Australia Speedweek 2018
Hey Jon, yep there is probably some in vehicle footage but that might take a while to be released.
I keep promising the RGV a new paint job but it still scrubs up ok so i will sort the motor first.

Re: Dry Lake Racers Australia Speedweek 2018
Hey Thanx Jon and Rory, the bussa has a strut on an extended swing arm. It has some ballast, 40 kg i think, added to the swing arm as well so I think that will have to go. The weight bias is towards the rear. All the alignments were checked before this event and head stem bearings were checked and t...
