Re: kobra's 1985 RZ350NC2 basket case restoration

I got my OEM banshee crank from partzilla. They have good schematics on thier site. I Also have ordered OEM buts from Niche cycle.

Jets r us are good too. Unfortunatley I’ve had to stop ordering from USA as the duties and tariffs etc.. are rediculous.

Re: kobra's 1985 RZ350NC2 basket case restoration

I’d just keep the box. With pods your fuel consumption will go way up with little if any streetable performance improvements. You can modify your box by removing the snorkle inside and trying different filters. Some even drill the lid which I don’t think is needed on this set up. The biggest restric...

The higher 420+ jets are for if you remove the airbox and use pods.

Re: New project '85 RZ350 NC2

There is a DG mod out there. It increases the stinger with 1” pipe then little silencers are grafted on. Thats what I’ll do to mine forsure.
Cheers?

Re: Rebuild RZ350 - Go full stock or upgrade?

Our Insurance corporations considers them consumable. Thus you can put period correct, after market, pipes on and retain collector status. Cleaning a set of cigars is a royal PITA. Usually one baffle is sheared off inside. Not going hijack this thread any further.

Re: Rebuild RZ350 - Go full stock or upgrade?

Exhaust pipes are consumables. From my experience you run into jetting challenges trying to jet around 30 years of someone elses carbon build up, (when buying used.) With all due respect to others who maybe selling used exhaust pipes. There are “used” pipes out there that were taken off at the deale...

Re: solo seat leads?

Those look great. I’ll try and get a set as spares. The black paint on the asian reproductions comes off almost imediatley so i reckon stainless steel ones are a plus. I’m going to get an airtech piece and paint it at the same time as my extra gas tank. I just wonder why the are useing polyester res...

Re: solo seat leads?

I found caliper seals worked to loop over the turn signal stems as well. Might not be the exact same size but fixed them. Those seals are expensive though so its only useful info if you’ve rebuilt your brake calipers and have the old ones still on hand. Evans would be the best bet.

Re: New to me Cheapo 84 RZ350 build

I used por 15. So far so good. Scrubbed the inside with chain link and metal rescue slurry. Aluminum foil tape over the openings. Do the inside first.
