Re: WTB: Crankshaft

Did you find a crank?
I have some in Ontario if you want. Core or ready to install.

The last time I bought a center "chunk" it was almost $500 CDN and I waited almost a year from partzilla

Re: RZ350 CDI options

First thing I would do is make sure you have the correct combination of parts. All the rotors, stators and CDIs sorta work together but some are better combinations.

If you're replacing stuff and you want to use stock parts you want the setup off the '89 Canadian RZ.

It's hard to beat 1UA pipes on a stock motor.

Re: AL Swingarm

It's simple to make a case for why you DON'T want an aluminum swingarm, steel is better. A 4130 swingarm is lighter, stronger and returns to shape faster than aluminum. Cox Custom Fabrication is my "go to" guy for all things frame related https://www.facebook.com/people/Cox-Custom-Fabricat...

Re: Primary gear drive rivets

Till they're tight.
If there is ANY lash in the connection they're sheer off in short order.

HEAT the rivets. Makes them easier to peen AND when they cool they tighten up.

I use bolts.

Re: Engine stud corrosion prevention

Titanium too

I cut the heads off socket head cap screws and thread the end.
If you want STRONGER ones get Unbrako bolts.

For corrosion resistance you can heat the shit out of the bolt and drop it in oil.

Re: Banshee barrels

The Banshee spigots are the same as the TZ250/350. You can use TZ pipes. Swarbrick makes a couple of nice TZ kits. Talk to Byron at CMR Racing in Trenton, ON, he is a Swarbrick distributor What's a "conventional pipe" The TZ downtube is CONSIDERABLY larger than a stock RZ pipe... maybe not...

Re: PVL coils

Yes, those are the ones with a CDI
I use them with a PVL ignition... I have no idea what they'll do connected to a Yamaha stator
Setup was nothing special
Have you seen this?

Re: PVL coils

I currently have some of those on a RZ, and have used them previously on TZs.
They make sparks. PVL made ignition parts for a long time.

Improvement over what? There's nothing wrong with the stock coils.
