I didn't really read too much, but will note I bought a set of Five gloves with the red fingers over the clutch (so you can give the Peace symbol apparently).
The clutch was juddery until they wore in which took over a year and still not brilliant. Other gloves didn't have the issue.

Re: Charging woes
Should be over 14v when revved. Check plug out of stator. Often burns up. I think you are losing voltage through bad connections. But regulator needs a feedback point from memory , check this is ok. When I put one on my GS11 I had to make a separate splice to a switched power (brake switch) as the R...

Looks great. Did you ever look/test the thermostat? In a pot with thermometer. Written on side. Someone could have put a 4 stroke one in there.
But that's a reasonable hot day there!

Re: Transmission oil - like grease?
Lare reply, I've been in hospital. Old bike so I'd beware and do the job properly so you don't trash parts unnecessarily. Easy job once you get into it.
My old RZ mixed 2 stoke from the oil pump I to the cases. Was just a seal that moved sideways. Starved the right cylinder of oil.

Re: New RZ350
The Triumph calipers need to meet mr linisher for 20 seconds and tssit of black spray. I was well pleased to pick some up. Until I realised, rather daftly that my Yamaha has RGV forks so dont fit. Doh. Must sell them. But freight won't be cheap from this part of the world.

Re: RD350LC Carb choice
Many people put Keihin PWK28 crabs on thier RZ350s. Must better than Mikuni. Dont see why shouldn't fit on the earlier LCs. KR1 used to provide donors but hens teeth now. KX85 used them and still available new. Of course there are lots of knock off Chinese versions of the PWK. Oh you will be tempted...

Re: RZ350 CDI options
Your issue could well be the low speed stator coil. This is not uncommon, although cdi failures for 29k were a thing I believe. A DC cdi steps around this issue as it is powered by DC from battery and thus the thick stator windings via rectifier regulator. Ignitech and zeeltronics are common options.

Re: Piston meltdown... again
That's some real ugly detonation that has eaten the piston like that. Ok assuming something queer isn't happening. Like an airleak, so test. Or one combustion chamber isn't smaller than the other, measure, or the crank is twisted to advance that side, measure with dial and gauge; then you are going ...

Re: Changing your own tire
To be honest if you gave me 4 buckets of water and said "represent 1 gallon" I'd panic, push forward 2 buckets and scurry off mumbling something about the French. Michelin tyres are the other thing that they do well.

Re: Stock exhaust performance
Well that's surprising. . . . Oh wait, it's not. Good on you for objectively testing. You can mount every 2nd stiff spring. That's what I did on my original. You could also lengthen the lever on the case. I think I did mine about 8mm or so on my bigbore bike. I might have ovalised the cable hole to ...
