Bodywork available in USA

#1 Post by jackjabba » Sat Nov 24, 2007 5:22 pm

Does anyone know what bodywork is still available in the USA? With the pound being strong against the dollar it may be cheaper to get parts from the States.

Has anyone bought one of the Bellypan stonegaurds on ebay from the guy in Brunei, are they copies?

Hey jackjabba - welcome to the group!!

Are you looking for NOS original bodywork? If so, you'll have to look outside the U.S., as the bikes were never sold here so Yamaha dealers won't be able to help.... :???:

Yeah, I was looking for original new panels, I know you can get them from Canada, but wasn't sure about the USA. In fact someone on this forum sent me some prices last year from Canada and they were cheaper than the UK.

Stone guard ( 2 parts ) are available in Canada for about $75.
Case chain , cover tail above the taillight , tool box , tool kit , mirrors ,
that's about it for the big parts then you fall into the small gizmo .
My Yam dealer is expecting a prices drop on parts that could be as much as 20 % now that the CDN $ is on par with the US $.

NEW GUY here...
So do people here in the US usually order from dealers in Canada? I just got an RZ that's rashed up and I'd like to replace the body parts. Do you think they are still available?

Hey lgyee4 - welcome to the group!

Yes, Canada would be your first stop for trying to obtain original bodywork - but keep in mind some of the panels are NLA.....

So are Canadian dealers able to ship directly to the US? Has anyone done this?

I just bought two new fairing panels from Canada, and posted to the UK, admittedly it wasn't from a dealer, (guy sometimes get bits on Fleabay) but I would also be interested if anybody has a contact for whatever panels are left available. I'm sure if you pay extra shipping costs, you will get them posted anywhere??

Hey lgyee, when you convert New Zealand dollars to U.S. dollars,it comes to $343.73. Even with shipping, that may be cheaper than Canada.
Sincerely, Gary P.

Or how about this little gem for 68.72 U.S.
I've seen complete ones with some cracks go for close to $400.00. I'd say this would be a good deal. Sincerely, Gary P.http://justfairings.co.nz/cms1/index.ph ... ge&pID=237
