I talked to Mike Saturday. I bought a full set of cylinders. all new .25 Yam pistons for the rebore and a set of heads. Paid him. Parts shipped Monday morning and they arrived today. Parts are seriously like new. He even threw in a full set of power valves and bushions and the little pv connectors.
Top guy to deal with.
Thanks Mike. Greatly appreciated.

I need parts, I'm getting old too so I have to think what exactly, and in the order of most to least needed, which is a weighted statistic I'm not sure how to measure, a cross between what I'm missing and what's been harder to find, add that I go for months, sometimes years, unable to afford anything else, then I forget where I left off and accidentally procure duplicates of what I last found, well it happens, and then I still need the stuff I'm still missing... thankfully I finally bought a printer last year, now I print all the parts pages and inventory what I have to see what I don't have, which helps a lot, especially when building entirely from parts. In the end I'll at least have extras I can trade for other items or just keep for spares. My experience if I buy something it's always expensive, but if I try to sell it no one wants to pay even close to my cost.
I do know I need a rear axle nut, the thinner one inside Yamaha part number 90170-16278, it would be easier if I had a list of what was available, or pictures I can see...

btw, I do sincerely appreciate the forum here, I think it was much better than the Facebook group when it was more active, the time when I wasn't really able to do very much though unfortunately. I purchased new my 1985 RZ500 from Canada but sadly was forced to sell in 1993 due to an injury, it wasn't until 2019 I finally took up the quest to build my 2nd 500 entirely from parts as a complete bike was either too expensive or simply none available (in the US) so that was just about when the Facebook group had started and this forum was slowing down, because pictures can be hosted directly on Facebook's servers I think was the incentive, and with that the hoards of random entries came so maybe it became less personal, and then split into at least (3-4) 500 groups. I don't use Facebook much really and it's not any of the wealth of information here as a repository one can find reference... eBay is still ok but takes a long time to search, years over looking for good quality new or used. I'm not a junk buyer I have enough of that so pictures are an important part of the equation for me, and I'm not rushed, it took this long to jump back in so I'll be patient in my search, I really don't have much choice anyway so...

Hi all.
Please don't take this post as me stirring the pot!
I just bought a few parts from the original poster, his prices were fair and shipping was very quick. He supplied tracking info and the parts arrived as described.
As I said, this is in no way meant to stir up any previous disputes, I am only doing as I would do for any transaction and reporting my satisfaction.
Thanks again Mike for helping me get my RZ completed!!
