I have decided to sell my beloved RD500. Making room for another classic bike.

It emigrated with its original owner from France in 2005.

I've owned it for 5 years. It's not needed any major work in that time but I did get the frame powdercoated by Redditch Shot Blasting. I've fitted Ivans needles to sort out the carburation and a UK headlight. It was set up by Krazy Kat Dyno and produces 70 BHP and 44 ft/lb torque at the back wheel (graph included with the bike).

The 2nd owner before me put on the UK clocks and found a set with practically the correct mileage on. I still have his phone number if you should want it. I still have the KPH clocks too.

Starts easily and runs perfectly.

Since I've had the bike I've serviced it every year, fitted new tyres, brake pads, chain & sprockets, spark plugs, black braided brake hoses, clear oil pipes and a complete stainless steel engine screw set. I have all the original hoses and fastners too.

The engine undertook a full rebuild by Stan Stephens at 21900 miles.

The Bodywork was re-spayed by Mark Cordwell in Derby, an RD specialist. All bodywork is genuine original Yamaha. Includes the stone guard and rear seat cowl which are often missing and cost a fortune to replace.

I have receipts for all the money I have spent on the bike and some from before I owned it. It comes with a ring binder full of receipts and history, the original owners handbook and 2 keys, which fit all the locks and the original tool kit including the line to hold up the fuel tank.

The bike won a trophy for 2nd Best Yamaha in the 2018 VJMC National Annual Rally and 3rd Best Motorcycle in the Bidford Vintage Gathering in 2019.
