Source for throttle side kill switch ?

#1 Post by hailwood1965 » Sun Mar 20, 2022 4:19 pm

The parts manual calls it yamaha 52x-83976-00.
Is the reason Yambits does not produce this because they are still easily sourced? I cannot seem to find one.
Suggestions welcome.

Did you search the forum, Did you look for another Yam that use the same part, Basically any Yamaha from that year WILL work, You can also remove the switch from the housing and swap it into any other Yamaha with the same housing/.....

What a terribly unfriendly message. But I am not surprised.

I've restored many bikes in my life but not an RZ500. I've never even ridden one. So what I have done in the past is to find a decent forum of fellow enthusiasts, join said form, then support the forum with actual money ("Site contributor" which I don't see by your name). I've done this on a CBX forum, a GPz forum, a Honda 400F forum, etc etc etc. Same thing here. But here the only way some questions get answered is if I actually answer my own post to draw attention to it.

It's almost like the people who know the answers here are standing there, arms crossed, sternly watching people who don't know these bikes very well, watching them flailing away until the poster suggests something they find ludicrous, THEN they step in with the Mr. Know it All.

I don't know if you are actually trying to be obtuse but OBVIOUSLY I did search the site. Also if I had known "Did you look for another Yam that use the same part, Basically any Yamaha from that year WILL work, You can also remove the switch from the housing and swap it into any other Yamaha with the same housing/....." Do you think I would have made the post asking the question??! Again : DO YOU THINK I WOULD HAVE MADE THAT POST ASKING THAT VERY QUESTION IF I ALREADY KNEW THE ANSWER??

Also: cheep cheep.

It's unlikely anyone will be willing to help you given the negative attitude you display here.

Let's be clear: there was very little help offered here in the first place. It's not like the Welcome Wagon is now being pulled out of the driveway in a huff.
