Fuel Tank Liner

#1 Post by steveho » Mon Sep 06, 2021 4:32 pm

I had a tiny fuel weep from one of the welded seams, so decided to use a fuel tank liner.
I used Petseal which is supposed to be ethanol resistant, but after only 3 weeks, is already failing as it has gone soft and coming off.
I’m tempted to buy the solvent to remove it and try another brand of liner.
What do you guys reckon?
The tank is in Marlboro colours and I don’t really want to repaint it, so a ‘proper’ repair (brazing?) is not preferred…

I have used different sealers and the only one I se now is Caswell. My last 2 tanks are over 2 years done and still leak free.

Thanks for the reply. Ironically I have also used the Caswell liner in my YZR rep project, but have yet to fill the tank with fuel.
I guess I should have stuck with that brand again…. :???: Never mind, we live & learn. Cheers.
