Engine stands
As the old post is gone here a new one...
I should get the new batch of engine stands soon, 7 do not have a new owner up to now.
Difference to the first 2 batches will be that they are made out of stainless steel without powder coating.
Everything else is the same as on the 3 first pictures.
Engine can be mounted with and without the gearbox cover.
All bolts are accessible with a torque wrench.
The stand has rubber feets and if you feel that it is not stable enough you can remove the covers and mount it to the workbench as shown on the last picture.
Last 3 pictures show the stand from the first batch which was hand made by me.
2nd and 3rd batch are made by a company with laser cut parts and welded by professionals.
Price: 80€ + shipping.

Re: Engine stands
Bad news - again.
Didn`t want to put pressure on the manufacturer as this time it was known how much work they are and no external company was involved for powdercoating.
So I was pretty sure that I will get them soon.
But I will get the stands probably end of April...
5 are still available.

Re: Engine stands
Everyone who is interested is put down on a list.
Sorry that I sometimes do not answer immediately as I`m a bit busy with finding some time for my kids and planning a house which should be built in the second half of the year.
As soon as the stands are ready I will for sure post it here and everyone on the list will get a PM with details.

Re: Engine stands
Hi,
My apologies if this is a silly question but how is the engine supported when the gearbox is going in?
Regards,
CC

Re: Engine stands
You can see it on this picture how it looks like when you remove the gearbox:
Upper mounting point is anyway mounted in every condition which is enough to hold the engine in place while working.
At the lower mounting point you need to rotate away the front bracket and tighten the lower bolt again that the rear brackt stays in place.
When the gearbox cover is removed you can insert a bolt with a big washer which is the fixation when using the stand without the gearbox cover.
When you remove the bolt of the lower fixation point the engine will not drop down, it anyway sits on the rubber bumpers.
This rubber bumpers are also good for mounting the engine into the stand, just put it onto the bumbers to release one hand which you can use then to insert the bolt to the upper fixation point.

Re: Engine stands
Sadly no news about the status of the stands.
I asked today when I will get them but I did not get an answer up to now.
I will keep you informed as soon as I have news.

Re: Engine stands
Bad news.
Everything was on track now but the center part of the stands has the wrong length...
New material has to be ordered and the center part needs to be done again
Next week I`m on holiday and if nothing changes with covid regulations I have to stay at home 5 days after the trip to Croatia.
=> Next info earliest 6.6.2021
Maybe a bit earlier if I can get them to deliver the stands to my door as an excuse for the delay.
Sorry again.
My plan was to get the stand before my holidays and organize the shipping stuff during the quarantine.
