RZ500s details

HI All

I'm restoring two Australian delivered RZ500

From the SN one is an early delivery (in the first 50) and the other is a later one (in the 500). both have been registered in the 1984

I read that there are few differences between the 47X and the 1GE but how can I confirm if the later is 1GE and the older is 47x?

the latest has white rims and doesn't have the upper exhaust chromed heat shields. The other has one side of the chromed heat shields welded to the exhausts pipes

Where white rims a factory color option and is the latest missing the chromed heat shields or didn't have them from factory?

Is a good idea to reach Yamaha and ask if they have any record of the bikes?

Both are 47X type.
1GE would have a VIN in 004xxx.

White rims were never an option and the chromed heat shields would have been fitted from the factory.

I keep a database so I may have some history for your bikes, PM the vins and I can check

yes they are both 53G. One vin is 0001XX and the other 004XXX

I found an hold post on the forum about the difference between MK1 (47x) and MK2 (1GE) and it seems the MK2 don't have upper exhaust heat shield from factory .. hope is correct
