Power Valve clean and service

#1 Post by ChequeredFlagRacing » Wed Jul 08, 2020 5:24 am

Hi All

Can they be done with the motor installed?

I've compiled a list of the parts. Am I missing any items before I source the items?

Some will need more than one item

TIA

Motor installed, yes.
But you need to get off all 4 cylinders.

It's bad, but not that bad. I did YPVS service and new rings a while back. I remember it as a 8 hour job, including a fair bit of frustration and cursing, but hey - isn't that what having a 500 is all about ;-)

Necessary job.
Take your time and do it well : I advise you to remove the motor from frame even if it is not mandatory at the end it will be easier.
Make a leak test and see what you get.
Chances are that you'll find some leaks.
