If I recall correctly, the 400 was going for about 1/2 to 2/3 of the 500 price a few of years ago, so $8K would have been about right. With the recent spike in 500 prices I wouldn't expect the 400 price to follow along. The demand isn't there. I'd probably buy a nice 400 with a good engine if one came my way, just to complete the set.Questo vecchio rz wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 2:06 pm
Just curious what some of you think the estimated value of a Gamma 400 unrestored with 43 km and typical 35 year old wear, would be.? I'm thinking 8k ...w trade.
I'm just saying it has no ca title, that's fixable it's just a pain in the ass.
And it's not the 500 even though it's the same machine it's not going to hold a 500 value same as a 500 triple can't match a 750.... I need another bike like a hole in the head especially another money pit....lol

What should an " average " RG 500 with the usual Rick Lance goodies go for ?

A comparable question would be, "how big is the sky?"strokersquid wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 12:17 am What should an " average " RG 500 with the usual Rick Lance goodies go for ?
It's worth whatever someone will pay. Many, including myself, think a 100% stock bike is where the highest prices should be. Others see a Lance Gamma modded bike carrying a premium. I suppose it depends of which side you are on. It's your money and only you know what you'll pay for it, but ask yourself what will the next buyer will be willing to pay for it?

I say LanceGammas are worth anywhere between $25k - $30K.
Like John said stock bikes may go for top dollar but they are boring to ride.
I rode a museum condition stock Gamma and I hated it!
Wheels, brakes, suspension, pipes, carb and airfilter mods will turn the bike into a completely different animal.
