Hi guys, first off hope everyone has a great Xmas.
I have the age old problem of a leaking carb, I was hoping to remove the carbs by simply removing the air filter and unscrewing the 2 long screws, however, I can't get to one of these screws to loosen it, as it is such a long time ago when I put this bike together I am unsure if I have to remove the radiator.
Anyone have any ideas or am I better just to remove the rad to access the screw?
Any and all help very much appreciated.

G'day Chieftan
You shouldn't need to remove the rad to access the screws. They are positioned using locator slots to point them in a direction where you can access them fairly easily. You should be able to see the heads pointing just below the level of the rad using a decent light and from memory, you don't even need a longer than normal screwdriver (the top two are easier again). Saying that, I always use my long Phillips as it has the newest tip, something I'd recommend - using a decent tipped screwdriver to preserve the screws.
Cheers

Re: Carb Removal
You can either access them without removing the rad with a long JIS screwdriver or a 7mm socket.
Re: Carb Removal
Thanks Phildu, one problem is that the screw for the bottom carbs on each side point forward towards the radiator and it is impossible to get the smallest of screwdrivers in, should these screws be upward pointing?
Re: Carb Removal
Ok, I see your problem.
Carbs have been mounted before the radiator and the screws were not set at the right orientation...
For the bottom/upper carbs you can set the screws facing either forward or backward.
Personnally, I set them all forward facing to the bottom of the rad. I feel it easier to access them all 4 from one side.
So, it seems you have no other choice than to remove the rad at first.
Upon remounting, set the rad first and the screws after, you'll find it easy.

Re: Carb Removal
Can you get a 1/4in 7mm socket on it with a knuckle joint, Taking the rad off sounds like a lot of work
