I have always use Tremclad High Heat Enamel. It's self levelling and gives a perfect finish every time. Once the pipes heat up it will cure the paint and the result is extremely durable. It dries to the touch in 5 minutes and is simple to apply. Just make sure the pipes are spotless first. Brake cleaner and Scotchbrite pads will do the job. I use this paint on all of my pipes and have used it for many years without disappointment or complaints.
