position of bands / zip ties on electric harness ?

#1 Post by bokusouchi » Tue May 07, 2019 3:14 pm

on my rzv500r (51x)

I have a few question about the positionning
of the various bands/straps/ties on the main harness :

figure 42

(28) 437-83936-10 ( black flat long band )

(29) 12r-82591-00 (thin black zip tie )

(32) 90465-13154 (thin white zip tie )

same question on figure 43

(13) 437-83936-00 ( black flat band )

same question on figure 41 :

(13) 437-83936-00 ( black flat band )

same question on figure 37 :

(10) 437-83936-00 ( black flat band )

and finally :

does the main harness go under
or over the bracket 47x-4129j-00 in between the cdi and ypvs black boxes ?

thanks for your input .

On my bike I put the powervalve and CDI connectors behind the boxes and under the air cleaner ears, so the mid fairing doesn't rub on them
Turn signal wires are held down with the tie downs on the lower section of the fairing bracket.

thanks for the answer for the turn signals
It seems that on preproduction rd/rzv the connectors were set at the back of the cdi/ypvs boxes , and in the front on production bikes , (from pictures in the workshop manual of RZV and RD ) (and from pictures of Jackson40 preprod rd 500 ) .
any idea were the other bands go ? specially the one around the rear brake switch (fig 43 ) .
I am restoring my rzv (there were only a couple of bands on the harness , when i got it ) and i am trying to get it "factory correct" (more ore less )

The pre-production bikes didn't have many bands and i am not sure the production bikes had as many as the parts list shows.

Your bike will have a metal band securing the clutch cable to the frame which i don't think is not shown on the parts list.

This band was not fitted to first pre-production bikes, but is fitted to my 1GE pre-production bike.

You can see the band in this photo.

Part number 3412639701 (no longer available but easy to get)
