Paul do you remember what model your Harris levers are from?

Hi,

I thought they were non adjustable 1998 Harris rear sets - however when I double checked the Harris images look nothing like them - I’ll do a bit more research and see if I can find my PayPal invoice for them - perhaps Harris could supply the levers if you sent them some photos ?

Cheers
Paul

Thanks Paul, that's exactly what I found also when visiting their site. What I find appealing about the Harris levers is the offset built into them verses the brackets being spaced out from the frame to create clearance using straight levers.

After looking at your pictures numerous times I've just realized something about your bike I hadn't noticed before. In earlier pictures of your build you had removed the side stand which was no big deal as you were assembling the bike. But now when looking at the shift lever and rod clearance with rotating the connector on the shift shaft I've realized you've not put it back on and all of your pictures are with a swing arm stand or am I missing something?

You’re right - no side stand ! - I’ll see if I can live with it like that - not sure - also no number plate - the plate is a stick on decal of correct size on a hiviz jacket - again I might go to a proper number plate

A proper looking ride. Glad to see some talent. Would love some Brembo calipers but the stock R6 work well enough for my use. Any paint scheme decided upon?

Thanks Pete-

Did you see the final colours ? - I think Page 5 and 6 of this thread- hope you like them.

I think I’m going have to go a different route. I don’t have the luxury of having a pit crew standing by with a stand when I get home. 😎

👍😄

I might have to make a stand - it could get annoying

I found the invoice and it just said Harris YZR500 ! 😳

Perhaps if you write to Harris and ask them - I’ve still got the Harris brackets if you need them - they won’t fit the OEM RD500 without modification though.

I just checked some photos of Harris YZR500's and the pegs don't look anything like the ones on my bike - so still a mystery - I've written to the guy who sold them to me to see if he knows which model of bike they came from.

Cheers

Thanks Paul, I tried to reach out to them and with all the shut downs it was a problem and their mail server won’t allow pictures so I ended up just going with CRG rearsets.

Sorry it didn’t work out - the seller got back to me and said he thought they were Yamaha YZF750R

Post your rearset photos up when you’ve fitted them.

Cheers
Paul

Hi,

After 15 years of restoration and building with lots of help from others I finally managed a few trackdays at Cadwell Park and Donington Park........ I'm too slow and too old and at 6ft 5" tall the bike is a bit small for me......... but it was brilliant fun ..............

A really wonderful feeling that after all of the hard work the bike handled well and worked properly.

A big THANK YOU for all the help and advice from everyone on this forum as well !!

Cheers

Paul
