Do you mean the temperature error and the fact that aluminum actually melts at 660*C or 1220 *F ?

Ok I forgot the melting temp of aluminum?, the thermostat is missing on my lab tube furnace so it’s not getting used much anymore. A little gadget I picked up for making home brew semiconductors, well diodes anyway and it’s good up to 1100C so definitely will liquify a very small aluminum ingot at whatever temp below the max it might need. The 700F number is from memory of some or another thing the lowest melting point, and I cannot for the life of me remember what, it may have been the point it begins to liquify and not the actual melting point? A quick interweb check reports 7075 melting at 890F with other alloys as high as 1200F. It’s probably safe to say alum melts easier than steel and isn’t a terrible material to try ones hand at casting with, that was what I was aiming at more than a specific tutorial or anything taken as “science fact”. Please forgive my trespass in this situation I am very sorry

I was thinking about the wheel castings or maybe CNC machine from your scans, it suddenly dawned that a 17” front and wider 18” rear, possibly to fit larger axles, could be made by editing the renders such that they capture the essence of the original Yamaha design, and though stock wheels aren’t hard to find too much yet, a custom wheel that looks stock would be quite something.

That said...

These illustrations are a massive help to me and I hope you don’t mind if I use to show (because I’ve never even seen them what they look like either) the missing pieces I need to complete my anti dives. It’s probably a long shot that anyone will have the small bits just by themselves but maybe I’ll get lucky?

Continued... not bad only a few weeks later and the brake damper parts have been found! NOS (FJ1100) in original box/bag too!

According to another thread these are correct for preproduction and 47X bikes

The 3D printed knobs from Arthur Harris are the larger 52X size so together it’s all good!

This parts were brittle and broken on all my anti dive units. They are made out of clear plastic.

You could just get OEM 17" and 18" Yamaha wheels widened and achieve the same thing.

Now that Sandy Kosman is no longer in the business, Custom Metal Spinning is the goto [lace for widened OEM wheels.

These guys cut the rim and weld wider elements to accomplish a completely stock but wider rim.
For the RD500 they offer 4.75x18 and 3.75x17 for around 630/690 Euro each (incl German TÜV approval) :

Wow! I like those specs, they’re a modest increase that seem very well balanced and a perfect fit.

I have a YZF750 swing arm I want to remove the upper rail and gussets so resembling closer to stock (minimalist approach that seems better matched to the frame) but it has a larger axle. Nothing yet for the front but would probably want to go to with the same vintage fork (aftermarket from Öhlins). In my mind the larger axles could work either by machining to fit suitable bearings or maybe bearings that bridge the gap as is may exist? It’s a guess until parts in hand for comparison to see just what’s what.

That's easy stuff.
Just machine a chain tensioner that has a slot that fills the "old" axle diameter and has a smaller bore to fit the RD axle diameter.
Though I guess you'll need a longer axle manufactured.

Hello Robert,

thanks for your inquiry.

We do not send packages to the USA because there are always problems
