Re: Squish setting
The squish is way to big in standard form. Probably different from front to rear as well.

Re: Squish setting
Dave,
The manual says you should get 128 psi.
Working towards that with my own bike.
Cheers,
Paul

Hi Dave, is this your bike? I'm pretty sure it is an its a nice one. From what I see I would assume the previous owner put the motor together right so I have a couple questions. Does the compression gage your using have the valve stem at the end of the hose or is it up at the gage so it adds the hose volume to the reading making it read low? What did squish measure with solder? The article says the motors stock but what are you seeing? Were the cylinders stock, any port work? Wish I was closer so I could take it for ride

Hi, use a thin solder wire place it through the spark plug hole above the gudeon pin, make sure the wire touches the outside of the cylinder. Then rock the crank over top dead and back take your measurement and do the same on the other side of the same piston
Take your largest measurement and take 32thou off. I think the top was 52thou bottom was 57thou. Machined off 20thou top 25thou off the bottom. All measurements done with genuine head gaskets.
Cheers Ron.
