Had to see if I could get it to run before I tear into it too far....it does run.
Used a fuel bottle and bypassed the gas tank to avoid getting any rust in the floatbowls, then road down my driveway and back a couple times....
Runs reasonably well considering the amount / lack of prep work I put into it.

Bike is completely apart now....see the years get peeled away as I try to bring back it's youth...

Just saw your submission to Practical Sportbikes Randy. Your collection looks just as impressive there.

Hi Randy, I want to build a TR750 like the Gary Nixon version. One of my favourites from my youth. Will you be using a CMR frame on yours? Sorry for the Hijack!

This is all I have so far...
72 GT750 frame/first gen GSXR1100 front end and wheels/GS1100 swingarm...possibly a GS1000 gas tank...
Also have most of a 72 GT750 engine....that needs everything redone.
It was kicked off the table so I could get the RZV up on it.
I have had conversations with CMR and their frame, but would prefer one that is the exact same design as the original TR that is available in the UK
Instead of building this GT/TR....I decided I needed a RZV first....after the V4 is done, I might get back to a TR style cafe racer

Image

The above is nothing like a TR style frame....but TR crossover pipes used for sure.....
...If I have more $$$ in the next build budget I would choose between

PHW

And the CMR

For me I'd really like to have the triangulated upper frame/fuel tank since it's so fundamental to the style of the bike. I wonder about getting a street title for one of these frames? I hear you can get around 130hp fairly reliably out of these. Any expertise on the tuning potential?

After my RZV project, I was done with strokers for a while...
Or so I thought.
Then I decided to build a bike for Bonneville in Jan 0f 2020, for the Sept AMA meet. (1989 RGV250 SP)
It never happened, and the bike project was constantly held up by shipping/manufacturing/rebuilding/financing...you guys know how projects can get.
Anyway, after 14 months, I finally was able to see smoke from the pipes.

Time to get it off the table, and break in/road test will start.

Yea, my projects are scattered as I occasionally get one about 95% done and then start another one....
This tells the whole project story.

Basically done, just dialing in the needles on the Lectrons now
No more two stroke projects for a while.....parts prices have gone crazy.

Two strokes can be a pain in the ass, and sometimes a 4 stroke can make things so much easier.
Bought this one year ago for my Christmas present.
....2021 Aprilia RSV4 1100....217 at the crank.....
Along with a few HP add ons....
And after one year of use, I am still alive..... :smt007

Sadly the RZV has not run in well over a year.... For reasons you can see below.
But last week I put the bike back up on the table.
Dug into the problem to fix the damage, and now it's a matter of figuring out where to start on all my jetting this time around.
And clean my tank out again... :smt013
