I don't want to give it up- but I'm going to have to sell that, and my low mileage '87 RZ350.
Need to get another bike with electric start.

Will still have 3 RZ350s and the RZ500.

Titanium spacer. Weight = 12 grams. Fit is perfect.

Working on another fix for the RZV. The front shock mount bolts to the lower crankcase. The upper crankcase bolts to the front engine mounts. Without the engine installed, it's difficult to set up the roller.

My frame is upside-down:

Ordered some 8mm threaded stainless rod and 8mm i.d. tubing. Will measure on my RZ500 where the bolt is and machine some delrin mounting blocks/protectors to clamp to the frame for mockup with the rod/tubes/nuts.

Anyone near you have an empty set of cases you can borrow Pete? I have some, but I'm not exactly around the corner.

Thanks.

That was the first thing I thought of. But, unless I could find unusable cases, it sounds like an expensive proposition.

I was lucky, and did find some trashed RZ350 casings for a different project. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky, again!

Will be back to the project soon.
Just need a short break to kick the shit out of cancer.

Thanks to all for the encouragement.

Some good news.

Another member stepped up and is sending me some gearbox casings for mocking up the roller.

Looks like the package might arrive today! :smt026

No reason to sugar-coat anything. Surgery was not successful. Now, my cancer is terminal.

Radiation may buy me some time, but not sure about details yet.

The real bad news is that I'm very fucked up from the surgery and may not be having any fun with the time I have left. Don't want to go into details, but it's bad. Had to stay in bed Saturday & Sunday but was able to get a little work done today.

Should be able to work on bikes soon. Not sure yet about riding. Went out a few days ago, pushed the bike out of the garage and tried to sit on it. Almost dropped the bike three times and almost fell off the bike. Way too soon. Can laugh about it now.

Never really cared about finishing any of my bike projects. Until now.

Well, I only got the lower gearbox casing, but it might still work. Will be a 4-point mount (pics later).

Got some replica rear engine mounting brackets from RGVsteve, but I'd like to make my own out of titanium, if I have time.

Next, need to make 2 aluminum spacers, just to get some measurements.

Need lots of titanium hardware.

I'm gutted Pete. Absolutely gutted.

Whatever I have here is yours. Let me know what I can do to help.

Been worried about you and wondering how you were doing and I am sure a lot of others in the community were too.
The worst news. The worst. :smt011
Anything I can help with just ask.
I really want to see you get recognition for your efforts and dedication to the bikes. Bike of the Year over at 2Stroke World or even better a story in one of the magazines or both!
