Sub frame bracket for the top exhausts

#1 Post by Jarrettvp » Tue Aug 29, 2017 6:01 pm

Hi,

anyone know where I can get hold of Left side bracket that bolts on the end of the sub frame ( I presume to take the weight of the exhaust if a mounting bolt fails)? I have a right side bracket, but no left side.

Can you still buy these new?

Cheers.

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you have the part # or the item # and parts list page #?

The only 2 parts bolted to the end of the sub-frame that I can think of are the left and right rear side cover stays. 47X-2172E-00

These are the part number Stromie mentioned.
They crack. I suggest making something stronger unless its gotta be OEM

Ah - yes. These are the parts I am referring to guys. Didn't realise they are the panel cover stays.

I would prefer OEM, but may get a couple made up as well. I imagine that is why there is only 1 on the bike now.

Cheers

Anyone got one of these brackets they want to sell? I am missing one for the left hand side.

These are a pair here. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1985-YAMAHA-RZ50 ... Sk&vxp=mtr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Make sure the seller is clear about the shipping charges before you buy. He has a history of being dishonest.

Hmmmm - you right. Shipping charge from the US was £25. Plus I paid £25 for the brackets. Now they are stuck in customs as they want import duty from me!

The guy is a crook. Air shipping from Canada would have been near 10 Pounds.

I talked to a local guy that bought a few parts from him. The seller wanted $400 US to ship to Canada. He was talked down to $200, but that was still far more than the actual shipping cost. Sellers like that have a special place waiting in hell.

It kills me to see that this seller has his hands on another 350 he's parting out, and so many people are bidding on the parts!

And the real stinger in the story is, I just had a notification from Customs to say if I want my two brackets, I need to pay them £25 import duty. So all in all, it's cost me £75.

That's why the parts seem to sell but are then relisted again as if they didn't sell. The seller and buyer are the same person. Bidding up his own prices to take advantage of people.
