Nice MC21

#1 Post by trix » Sun Sep 10, 2017 6:28 pm

My NS400 is in Rothmans colours. This would look nice beside it. What do you think of the price, £7250 (US$9500, AUD 11,900, CAD 11,600)??

8,000 miles?

Pics can be deceiving- but it looks gorgeous.

You can buy plenty of good bikes for that price- but that bike is a rare gem.

Nothing compares to the great 250s produced by the Japanese factories.
No RZ500, No Gamma500...nothing.

The obvious example of a Rothmans motif NSR250s, The Suzukis RGVs to the Vj23. They were the pinnacle of full Japanese factory 2 stroke evolution.
Japans America aided post war golden era, is sadly over, neither country nor machines will ever exist as that again.

Just exquisite creations.

True it is. Questo vecchio rz said:

The MC21 sp Rothmans shown for sale is a model # NSR250R8N I think. This label is on the subframe under the seat with the paint code on it. It should also have the Magtek Wheels.
Mine isn't a Repsol but likely is a 1994 MC28sp Rothmans. Doesn't really matter as it's got MC21 Engine/Electronics/Bodywork but has correct NSR250R3R model # identification.

I had 7 250's. They are fantastic machines but they lack the grunt of the 500 fours. I will ride my RGV500 hybrid over my 250sp anytime.

The MC21 sp Rothmans for sale "appears" a genuine Rothmans Edition but the fact the frame has been polished would suggest closer scrutiny to be safe. Don't know about UK pricing but seems fair if it's the real deal.

I also notice that the recess around the screw on the side panel (below the Rothmans logo) is gold inside, a bit suspicious. I don't think there should be gold paint in there??

Not to play the skeptic here, but the bodywork looks a little too good, if you know what I mean. I'm thinking it looks a little Chinese.

Always skeptical. The N in HONDA looks funny the way it's lined up in the side vent? Don't think the 250R is normal on the yellow part of the tailpiece? Is it a real R8N?
