My 500 YZR screamer project

#1 Post by ncr160 » Sun Jul 06, 2014 12:08 pm

Hello, I know there are no pictures of the progres of my bike, but I am very pleased to show you the result before painting.
This bike was built between several projects. It took 10 years but what a joy to have finally running.
His first trip was made on the circuit of Nevers Magny Cours during the meeting organized by the French 500 rdlc club.
I hope that you will appreciate and with time (lot of), I will place some additional photos.

I still running slowly the engine so I can't give you all the informations. But Thanks for your wow.
For the vibrations, as I kept away the balacer shaft, there are some vibrations. I don't know why but only during the deceleration (aroud 7 000 rpm).
I'll give you more information after the next setting ( main jet, curve ignition setting, air boxes, ... ) because I still have a lot of details to finish the project.

For now I run with cdi units from 250 tz 4 DP40. Next week, I'll get two fully programmable units form DEVMOTO.
I'll let my impressions in a few weeks because I'm going on holiday with my childrens.

Very nice work! Does the taper on the standard rd500 lower crankshaft fit the taper on the tz4dp flywheel?

In wich way have you changed phases between the two crancks ?
you can not obtain a 90° rotation with a 31 tooth gear.....did you build a new gears ?
